Local Hospitals Unite in Observance of National Day of Prayer
May 8, 2024
In a touching demonstration of solidarity and faith, three of our local hospitals, Person Memorial Hospital, Maria Parham Health in Henderson, and Maria Parham Franklin in Louisburg, joined together on Thursday, May 2, to observe the National Day of Prayer. At noon, team members from each hospital gathered simultaneously to offer prayers for our nation, our hospitals and patients, and for our families.
The event underscored the profound significance of communal prayer, emphasizing the power of unity in seeking strength, healing, and guidance, regardless of individual differences. In a world often marked by division, the act of coming together in prayer serves as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity and our capacity to support one another in times of need.
"We are deeply moved by the outpouring of unity and faith displayed by our hospital teams today," said Bert Beard, Market CEO at Person Memorial Hospital and Maria Parham Health. "In moments like these, we are reminded of the profound impact of collective prayer in fostering hope, resilience, and compassion within our community."
The National Day of Prayer observance provided an opportunity for hospital staff to come together in a spirit of solidarity, reflecting on the challenges faced by our nation and our healthcare system while also offering gratitude for the tireless efforts of frontline workers and the resilience of patients and families.
"We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who participated in this meaningful observance," added Beard. "Together, through the power of prayer and compassion, we can continue to support and uplift one another, fostering a culture of healing and unity within our hospitals and beyond."
