Intensive Care Unit

Typically our nurse-to-patient ratio is one nurse to two patients. This permits patients to receive competent, compassionate, and individualized care. It also permits nurses to become better acquainted with the patient and family members in order to provide individualized care. A waiting room furnished by the hospital Auxiliary is next door allowing family members to stay close and overnight visitation is welcomed.

A physician overseeing the patient’s care determines admission to the Intensive Care Unit. Specialists in such areas as Cardiology, General Surgery, Orthopedics and Otolaryngology are available for consultation, insuring the most up-to-date and complete treatment plan.

Patients are encouraged to participate in their own health care decisions and to become better-informed consumers of health care.
