In January of 2009, after 9 months of tests, pain and all out frustration I decided to seek a second opinion. My symptoms were getting worse by the day and my fear began to increase with every new symptom. I knew it was time to start over.
I made an appointment with my general practitioner and from that day forward positive advances in diagnosing my illness were made. I was immediately sent to Person Memorial Hospital for an X-ray where I was treated with such kindness and respect. To say I was scared was an understatement! The results were quickly sent to my doctor and it was determined that further testing needed to be done.
I received a CT scan one afternoon and the results were given to me the following morning. Because of the time and effort that the radiologist and the entire radiology department put into caring for me, they found a tumor that no other medical group had found using the same tests. They were able to locate my problem and communicate that information directly to my doctor within 24 hours. The agony of waiting on test results can be so traumatic. I can not tell you the comfort that I felt knowing that they took excellent care of me, did a thorough job running the various tests and communicated their findings so quickly.
Thanks to PMH's radiology department thorough work, a minor surgery with no follow up treatment needed cured my illness. It is this kind of personal and attentive care that makes PMH so special and all of us in Person County so lucky to have them close by!
