Person Memorial Hospital has embarked
on a $17 millionRenovation/Expansion project.
This project willpermit adequate space to accommodate
ever-changing technology and will permit us to provide
improved patient access, comfort and privacy to the growing
number of patients we serve.
We are renovating over 25,000 square
feel of the existing facility and adding over 22,000 square
feet of new construction to the first floor.
The first phase involves renovating
an area to house the Specialty Clinics. These Clinics
which permit our citizens to receive care locally rather
that having to spend the time and funds to go out of county
to receive specialty care will enjoy an additional 2500
square feet. The Clinics will offer an atmosphere more
like that at a private physician's office while also making
Clinic access more convenient for patients. In addition
to exam and chemotherapy rooms there will be a Family
Education room for family conferences with the physician
and to house books, pamphlets, tapes etc. regarding illness
which are loaned to our patients and their families. The
Cancer Service Room, under the auspices of the Hospital
Auxiliary, will enjoy a dedicated and expanded area to
house wigs, hats, turbans, prosthesis, bras, pillows,
etc. which are given to our citizens at no charge.
Occupancy should happen in August
2006.
