Person County Needleworkers Inc.

Person County Needleworkers Inc. is a nonprofit, charitable organization whose members have been dedicated to aiding needy persons in our community, regardless of race, color, creed or economic status since 1984. The organization provides NEW items of clothing and household linens. PCNI members knit, crochet or sew most items, but they also buy some new clothing to match items they have made.
PCNI provides a valuable service to Person Memorial Hospital. They make and donate such items as chemo caps and soft pillows for our Specialty Clinic patients who may need them after receiving chemotherapy. They also provide articles for our Surgical Department. These items, such as pillows have been a true access for our patients in the PACU, especially for comfort measures after surgery and their recovery at home.
Many of the items are given to our Extended Care patients, such as summer lap robes, Afghans, slippers, shoulderettes, shawls, bed throws and blankets.
They also sew children’s clothing, bean bags, learning tools (puppets), bibs for children and adults, hospital gowns, wheelchair and walker bags. These are given to patients who have been admitted to the hospital.
In addition to what they provide to Person Memorial, PCNI provides services to agencies in Person County that serves individuals in need.
PCNI meets on Tuesday’s at the Senior Center on Depot Street from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, anyone is welcome to join and donations would be appreciated. Please contact Sandra K. Garland for more information at 336-599-5444 or Patches4u@charter.net.
